Newnes

Just spent the weekend at Newnes with 2 other couples and had an absolute blast! We decided that 2 days is not enough and will be going back for more soon. We camped just past the Newnes Hotel at a great campsite, grassy with toilets. Checked out the old industrial ruins (incredible to think that factories and industry existed there, now overgrown and seems in the middle of nowhere). Checked out the glow worm tunnel and finished up doing the Bullen Bullen trek which put us out on the Castlereagh Highway. All up a great weekend! Used the trek notes from a book about tours close to Sydney. Well recommended!

Top spot that one.
I have been down there a number of times & we cover areas like Lost City, Sunnyside Lookout, Spanish Steps, Glow Worm Tunnels & some tracks thru Gardens of Stone Nat Park.
Plenty of good 4wding in the area & some great camping spots.
I have 2 trips to there coming in the next month or so & both are booked out already.
