G'day All,
This is some pic's of my 2nd ride the old reliable 45 :) it has'nt had much done to it other than the 2 inch spring lift, the killer monroe shocks, the west end draught dash mat, the 3 ply door trims, a spring-over, the 35X11.5X15 centerpedes, the 240 blitz spotties, the Outback Challenge bunting on the bullbar and the VS commy seats I guess it's a truck that only Roothy would understand!!

Hope you enjoyed the pics.
Future mod's are a twin shock set-up for the front and back, taking a couple of leaves out the back springs, fixin the broken engine and gearbox mounts (Bloody bog hole No1 has alot to answer for!! >:() and drinkin a few can's thinkin about it ;D ;D

G,day bad_religion,
The main reason I was thinkin twin shocks in the front is i want to throw her at a few comps and with that in mind knowing that im going to launch off a few jumps i like the idea of having a bit more control in the front plus i have already busted the other mounts once and i have a 305 small block chev out of a corvette sitting in the shed to go in her! ;D ;D 8)
I've looked into air operated bump stops but these are too financial crippling and i've just been told that a friend of a friend can make up nitro charge shockers from old ones. ;D
I can't have anything posh on the 45 it will detract from it's old time image i was 'nt to sure about the alloy tray, my mates say it drags her into the 80's not sure i like that ;D
See ya out there,
Steve

G'day renni75,
as far as im aware they are the standard springs i think when they where put in they had a 2inch lift but i reckon that is long gone! :)
The springs are the same width as the one's on my 62 (dunno about lenth ???) but the spring over help's too get a lot more flex and that's got to be good!! 8)
See ya out there,
Steve.

ahh just askin, because i've read on alot of yank sites that twin shocks is hard to setup without causing binding during suspension cycling, and that it's easier to just get the right shocks for the job

After the 60 Steve, can the 75 come and play with your grinder and welder?
Or you could bring the 45 here, so the 75 gets all excited ;)

The ol 2H is seen better days,so the 350 is getting closer.
Were gonna have some tuff trucks soon.
Small blocks and spring overs galore :D
BTW that 45 is a bit of a beast.
Leave the ratchet straps on mate ;)

SA doesn't have ridiculous 4wd mod restrictions like the other states, besides it's usually stupidity that attracts mr. plods attention.

When I spoke to Vehicle Standards SA earlier this year they told me that you can basically do what you like to your 4by but if it doesn't pass their tests it's basically illegal and there are insurance issues.
But, I've seen some pretty serious mods on 4by's that have been approved at Regency so it's not all doom and gloom here.

Gday Eddy,
Yeh as sudso said dont have any worries they just look and point and you give them a wave and all is good ;D I think they are more interested in a lowered commodore with a young fella drivin it with his hat on backwards ;D ;D

Gday mudpiggy,
I would like to say that it is unbreakable but i would be fibbing :P

The last trip ( the one the photo's were taken on )
I got a bit excited (that damn red mist keep's decending ;D) and broke both the engine mounts trying to get out of a bog hole :o

Got a couple of rachet straps holding them in at the moment add's to the rustic feel ;D

I'll fix them when I take it off the road in about 7 weeks time ;D

Bruce Garland in Sydney does twin shock set ups on his rally Jackaroos. Maybe give him a call for some advice. I've got the number somewhere.
