nice lux, yes they are great ;D

how much lift u running btw?

MUD EMPIRE
15-07-2006, 06:07 PM
Bugger all. Just enough to clear the tyres.
40mm body, 75mm spring. Or something close to that.
No point tipping over an allready tippy car!

15-07-2006, 06:09 PM
yeh true. have u dont anything else to make the 35"s fit??

i run 33"s with just 2" body lift atm

MUD EMPIRE

Yeah, longer shackles and Iv'e plated the back of the wheel arches with some 1.6mm plate
just to fend off the tyres when things are working. It helps when the tyres you run aren't
actually 35 inch, more like high 34's.

There was a GU ute cab on a 3 inch extended GQ shorty chassis for sale on the Outerlimits forum a while ago & for some reason I was thinking it was being sold by a member under the name of tufgq but obviously it wasn't you ::).

I guess it sounded a little odd at first but I'm sure you get the picture now ;).

A couple of mates have driven Ellis many times so I'm aware of the 'EXPECT PANEL DAMAGE' phrase when it comes to Ellis tck............

I'm guessing you're talking about the 42 Silverstones not the extended GU shorty ???.

Yeah the reply's got a bit mixed up.
A 42" Silverstone would be the ultimate tyre.
They will never make them cause th'are just not foward thinking enough.

Sorry, the news is all bad. The Silverstones only actually measure 34.3 ,or near enough. My guards have got some 1.6mm sheet that
I cut to shape and fitted to the lower rear part of the inner panel
to fend off the tyres, ie. they still rub.
Although fitting extended shackles tends to drop the axle away
from the rear of the guards to a small extent.
If you want to fit "real 35's" you need to go a bit more somehow.
Chop the panel?
Oh yeah, and extended brakelines...I had mine extended 3" and
it's only just enough.
