Tracks are pretty reasonable, nothing too extreme. We have only done a day trip from Pineapple flat and back. The lake is a beuatiful spot

hi jono. if you take the track to sandy flat you can contunie to top hut crossing but the track from there is shut it use to go up to buckland spur , when going to sandy flat keep an eye out for evens creek track on your right it will take you to the evens creek motel (just a hut ) up to buckland spur turn right and travle to tomahawk hut from there take carters rd and you can come out on the hy/way near the base of mt buller / mt sterling to your left and mansfeild to your right distance about 60 km's you can go to mt sterling pineapple flat and take burnt top track and come out at the bottom of the weir wall at willam hovell. hope this helps.
