Thanks Icrawl!

I've also fitted the 'Sand Grabba' floor mats.

Fuel economy has worked out well so far. It has had two fills and averaged 24mpg (less than 12 litres per 100k's)!!
That is around town, but fortunately for us we can skirt around the outskirts of town for our school runs, but still good economy!

Hasn't got the 'get down and boogy' that the 12h-t 60 series has, but the Safari turbo will fix that.
I was suprised at how well the 80 drives out on the open road (considering that it is non-turbo at the moment).

Superb brakes and steering! Very quiet but the snorkel has given it a slight growl. Should sound even better once the turbo and larger exhaust is fitted.

New tyres fitted. Should still fit under the house (just!).

I like this angle:

Half way through fitting fitting caster correction bushes to fix the slight wander that the 3" lift has given it.

Fitted the Safari turbo and bought a used (3 month old) 2.5" exhaust system. I fitted the turbo and had an exhaust centre plumb it all up.
Not that much gain in power as yet, but I have it booked in for dyno tuning on Monday... I'll see how it goes!

Now that I have that fitted I'll have a go at installing the cruise control.

I bought a Kaymar rear wheel carrier over eBay and will fit it soon.

I still have to wire up the Lightforces, wire in the Waeco 12v outlet, auxilliary battery, headlight loom (and globe) upgrade, etc.
(I had made a plate up for the spotties so that I could remove them without upsetting the allignment, but still need to wire in the loom).

I got hold of a Detroit No-spin auto locker and will fit that. If I'm happy with that I'll sell the ARB air-locker that was going to go in.

Next week I'll order the part-time conversion kit and later install that along with the used Aisen FW Hubs.

Still a bit to do, but looking better now! :)

thats a nice80 ;D but I wouldent fit that Detroit No-spin auto locker in a full time 4WD it will give you drama on the road if you have a ARB air lokker fit that you wont regret it as you can lock it in & out at the flick of a switch much better you wont wont the auto lokker clicking in on the road :( any way good to see another 80 where abouts ya from?

I'm located in Maryborough, QLD, Jimbo.

I had the cruiser dyno'ed and power and acceleration has improved heaps. The whistle has increased but not enough to become annoying. Can't hear it with the windows up especially at cruising speed.

I fitted the Kaymar rear wheel carrier and all works (and looks) good. Just have to wire up the number plate lamp.

I'm having a re-think on the part-time conversion again. People are saying that there isn't a great improvement on fuel economy. The vehicle already steers quite sharply so I'm not really interested in any more improvement in steering. Disadvantage is that I will lose the ABS system and wet road traction (safety). Also, it may be illegal to disable the ABS in QLD (still have to find that out).

I know that you can't run an auto-locker in the front of a full-time 4WD, but what about the rear? I didn't think that would be a problem.
