yeah those pics aren't in any order... the bfg all terrains were on it when i bought it... they now hold my brothers troopy up, so i've got his claws..
i could write pages on the All terrains... i'll shorten it to this.
BFG all terrains should be banned from sale, they are lethal on wet roads. i have experienced bald bias ply tires on split rims with more grip. they suck in any condition other than sand... do not buy these tires if you want your 4bie to handle at all. oh and they are noisier onroad than BFG muds, Hancook muddies, and the radial claws.
the only tire that drove worse than these were a set of recaps that had the tread separate from the carcass and had a 1 inch buldge (only drove them for a kilometer). and even then... there wasn't much in it. i hate these tires with a passion

Clearly you are not a salesman for BFG.........haha....... ;D
I hear all this but I also hear so much about the COOPERS and others as well.........I am really trying hard to decide between the BFG muddies or the Goodyear MTR's now..........what ya think???
I really want the safest tyre as well as a good general offraod tyre..........I do more on road than off but i still love the bush.......

had no complaints from old school bfg's... the new ones wear too quickly from what friends have experienced. the MTR's get nothing but good press, as long as you don't do too much mud (they don't clear the tread blocks that well). saying that, they behave better than all terrains in the mud, just not as well as the claws and bfg muddies, but for the grip everywhere else, it's a small sacrifice. i think they'd be the safest "all terrain" bet...
but if you don't mind a gamble on wear rates (had some say they last 50 000 some say 80 000) i have not had reason to fault the mickey T radial claws... they are actually the nicest 4bie tire i've driven on the street.
how'd this turn into a tire fest anyway :)
and slinger, i'm up for a flex day... you might need a higher beddy after the next round of mods ;D

and in the beige corner, with a severe wheelbase and axle width disadvantage (not for long) ;D...
and you think i won't be unbolting the shocks, and "adjusting" air pressures in the tires? :D:D

found some older wheeling pics oldest to newest
second trip out ever, first time i met what would later become the 3rd rock crew

(my god, that was before i even dented it... or modified it)
BOHO trip, the formation of the 3rd rock club... and my first trip out since moving the rear axle back 1.5 inches and lifting it.

(no that's not photochopped)

(yes there different instances, on 2 seperate tracks... i like wheelstanding it don't i?)
to be found... the last boho trip.. first trip out with the detroit, and the first time i flopped it
Robe trip with 3rd rock... pretty much how it sits now, (except no rear shocks because i snapped them on this trip) axle back further, detroit, claws, and more spring work
http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e309/bad_religion_au/robe1.jpg
how did i not roll it? considering the sidewall of the front passenger tire is flat on the ground, as can be seen on this pic
http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e309/bad_religion_au/sidewall.jpg
and as if i need an excuse to show what a mighty 2f can do

Thats some nice flex you've got there Adam.
Might have to consult you when it comes time to sort me Bundy out ;)(SWB coil)
My Rodeo, well what can I say, 2" lift and 33's just to get it sitting like a stock Hilux haha!
Guess I just pick the worst flexing trucks to make it more of a challenge :D
Seriously, some well thought out mods there mate.
Gonna enter it at Loveday?
cheers

i'd love to enter it, but i've got my best friends 21'st and my bro's 20th that weekend... if the 40 has finished it's transformation by then, i'd be tempted to lend it to someone :D

well it runs.
it's not quite complete (the missing headlight can attest to that) neeeding front shock mounts, longer front shocks, lifted guards to clear the q78's, and a new battery.
but it climbs like a dream, i don't know how i lived without the front locker this long. the extra wheelbase and width makes it stable as hell... but it bodyrolls a little on road... might add some swaybars
oh and in the pics, my field assistant is 6 foot for comparison
