Had it about three weeks. Got it as is.
The only things non standard are the all terains, bull bar and running boards. The only thing that I have bought for it is some recovery gear.

Not sure where to start. This is my first 4x4. I'm looking for a club so I can do some trips and get some experience. Once I start to see what it can and can't do, I'll know what to modify.
First thing, though, I want to get the spare out from under and onto the back.
Then...(in no particular oder)
upgrade the headlights
add some spotlights
change alloy bar for steel with winch
upgrade the suspension...
lockers...the list goes on.
My plan is to set it up for a mix of touring and weekend stuff.
There are some nice cruisers on the site and they are providing plenty of inspiration and ideas.

i totally agree with the headlight issue, i have the exact same model as you, and i found the headlights at night dangerous, just dull... I got the arb headlight upgraade loom and am now running 90/120 watt globes ... much better ...
I found the biggest let down on the cruiser is its rear diff, the lsd doesnt work very well, it singe spins alot in mud.

are you just going 2" suspension? of so the shocks on it will be long enough and from memory that car has aftermarket enforcer shocks which are ment to be ok. so you really only need to buy coils and you an pick them up for 300 bucks easly.

That shows how much I know! I was quoted 1800 for ome and thought even if I go something cheaper, I'd still be looking at 1000+.
2" lift is all I'm after. I just want to get good wheel travel, if I can, because it'll be a long time before I can afford lockers.

most 2" lift kits the shocks are the same length as standard! i got shocks that were ment for a 3" lift and there about 15mm longer then the standard ones i pulled off. 80 series naturally have good travel. if i was you id get a set of 2" raised coils to get the lift then save for a good quality set of shocks down the track. you may need castor correction bushes too, some need it some dont so wait till you drive it then decided.

mate the springs are $150 a a pair and good shocks are $120 each (all dobinson) use medium heavy duty springs for best travel. BTW nice looking str8 rig one of the first things i would look at if i was you would be sliders (really strong steps) and a rear steel bar with wheel carrier just to protect your investment. the arb and OL brand ones are pretty weak. 80 lsy gq in the vendors section makes great gear at a great price. Happy 4wding :)

Thanks dirtygq.
I've been looking through 80lsygq's thread, and really like the sliders. Seem like a good price too. Just waiting to see what his rear bar with wheel carrier looks like.
How hard is it to change the springs? Is it something that I could do myself, with help, or do I nee to get someone to do it?

Piece of cake to change the springs and shocks yourself . and also you shouldn't need any castor correction with 2' inch lift which on an 80 series is plenty of lift for most things. Take it too a 4wd tyre specialist for an alignment when fitted and see if you need castor correction (they will tell by the machine wheter you have positive or negative castor) but i would think you shouldn't need them.
i just sat here for 5 minutes trying to figure out whats changed then i figured it out lol
TINTED WINDOWS!
I never look at the windows... never would have found the difference lol

pritty easy, you need 2 jacks. i used a rolling trolly jack under the wheels becasue they go down real low. so you jack the axel up and take the wheel off and the bottom shock bolt. then get the other jack, you may need to sit it on a block of red gum to get the height then jack it up. then let the jack under the axle down. the spring should come loose and you will be able to pull it out. put the new spring in then bolt the shock back on. then jack the axel back up to put the wheel on.
the reasion 2" lift shocks are no longer then standard is that the 2" raised coils will be the same height when you pull them out and the new springs. there just wound tighter to give you the lift.

Doesn't sound too hard. I should be getting the springs in a week or so.
We'll see how we go. :)
