awesome mouse, thanks....I see you did angle cuts / welds etc...no issues with strength???

looks like 50OD tube? mild steel? and while im at asking questions....what did you use as the winch mount supports...and those recovery plates...what gauge steel are they??? you used them in reco's? how have they held up???

Hope I'm not asking too many questions....or u think I'm trying to steal your ideas etc...got some designs in my head...but I've been pigheaded about cutting welding....but if a solid looking rig like yours has it and it holds up....makes life a lot easier...thats for posting the pics too :D

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v382/fourspin/circled.jpg

is the circled section an angle cut - weld type 'bend' ??

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v382/fourspin/eek.jpg

dodgy MSPaint drawing I know...but the bar I have highlghted in red...is that one piece (i.e. bend or welded) and the green struts coming from the shroud which goes over both chasis rails....or is the middle section of the red highlighted section connected to the shorud which covers the chasis rails?

(hope this description is followable ??? )

The different colours are seperate bars. I sectioned the bends by welding them on the inside and outside were possible. also each "bend" has a gusset plate or another piece of tube joining to it making it stronger. The tube I used was 50 OD for the top bar with a 3.5 wall (heavy wall). Probably worked out heavier than i'd ave liked but its still half the weight of my old ARB bar. I'll get some pictures of my rear bar up soon as it's the same design with a swing away.

Hey there Mouse , cool 4b , your mods are looking good,it's good to see and watch others doing up their rigs help to keep us others motivated...lol ...I myself have just aquired a "60" and have a couple of plans for it as well in due time of course but it does have a good start;turbo diesel, twin diff locks , high mount winch and rear draws and runs on 32's bfg mudders with 2" lift...just have to improve on what I have that's all.....Trip... :) ;) :)

Hi Mouse. Nice 60. How do your springs go? Apparently they are not designed to carry any load - for flex only I was told.

They ride pretty nice for leaves. The rears are pretty soft as they are the medium duty so they drop a bit when I load it up. Bit of body roll but thats to be expected with the height.

Yeah I towed a car trailer and car on the weekend and the rear was dumped. I think i'll have to get some air bags for towing

hey amte, thouse flares you got, where did ya get them and how much did they cost ya???

There called flexy flares, Bushranger make them. They are just rubber flares 65mm wide with steel wire through them so they keep their shape. Should be able to buy them from any 4wd shop.

Nice rig mouse..i've think i've seen it around sunbury vic.....u from there mate.

You can get the rubber flares very similar from clark rubber for 22 bucks a metre..they dont have the wire but the is a tubular formation on the edge for strenght. Or to add the wire

:D

did yours have a spring over conversion?
i think my toyo got a fair bit underpowered going uphills when i fitted the goodyears mtr 33/12.5 15
i'm thinkin about changing diffratios and if that doesn't change anything it will be time for a 350 chev!

Hey Offroadjack, Nice 60 for that money you can't go wrong. Yeah I've got a soft spot for the 60's (I must have otherwise I would have sold it long ago and bought a GQ like everyone else, would be less headaches to modify.) Mines still sping under with 4" lift. I'm in the process of changing the diff ratio's now to 4.5s should make it easier on downhill's and up again.
