Hi there. Very impressive rig. However, I was just wondering on what mods(if any) were done to your CV's? With that amount of lift, I'd be a bit concerned about their lifespan! I know there have been some mods in the US, whereby CV's taken from a Porsche 959(?) have been installed as apparently, they're very strong.

Regards,

Stuart

Hi Stuart, Thanks for the comments, the suspension lift was around 3.5- 4" and the tyres/wheels increased from 255/70/15 - 285/75/16. As for the CV's the front diff has been lowered to return the CV's and steering back to factory angels/settings so I cant see any long term problem with that, the front drive shaft has a spacer to take up the increased length.

Cheers, Dan

Looking very tough. Nice work!

Forgetting for a sec any legalities with SRS Airbags, if you were to do a 2" body lift on this as well, would it get 35"s in there?

I could fit 35"'s in there now but with a bit of rubbing, it would also make it very very hard to get engineered and RTA approved as the standard tyres where 29". A Body lift would be nice but I’m not going to even entertain the idea, can you imagine the problems.

Hey mate not bad, not bad at all. Wat mob did ur suspension setup for u? Would a similar setup be plausible for a 92 IFS 4runner. And approx cost would be great if possible....Cheers mate :)

Thanks mate, All the work was done through "the ultimate suspension". Yes you could do something similar to your 4runner there are a lot of different options you will find for your 4runner, just do a search on this site and many others for info, good luck

Yep, that's on the shopping list, the only problem is if I fit a bull bar of any type it wont fit in the garage :(

Need to get a new house or garage first ;)

that is one awesome looking hilux mate, i also was critical of the new shape when it came out but it looks like i might be getting one at the beginning of next year.

having said that the time has come to investigate some possible modifying options. i would hope to get 35's under it if possible. what other larger suspension lift options are availible fot his model?

Thanks for the comments, as far as I know there is not other option for a big lift at the moment, with the lift i got, you could fit 35's with a little trim of the front bumper bar, or fit a bull bar.

Hey HLX40L excellent work with the lux, just a few questions:

- Have you noticed much in the way of power loss after fitting the 33"s?

- How is the handeling after the lift and bigger wheels?

- Have you mannaged to adjust your speedo to compensate for the 33"s?

Cheers.

Thanks for the comments

I have lost a little power, but with the big 6 it doesn't matter to much.

The handling has actually improved, doesn't nose dive under brakes, no more body roll than standard, just feels better and more stable to drive.
I had a speedo correction module put in at the same time to correct it.

Cheers Dan
