I dont suspect there will be any major carnage, but will be good to get out for a quiet run.

One thing that should be noted though that your vehicles will need adequate recovery points front and rear, just in case. Nothing worse than ripping a tie down point off a car, or fumbling around under a muddy car looking for something to tie off to

Yep I am going on eBay this weekend to purchase some recovery gear.

You wont need recovery gear, we've probably got enough snatch straps to do the job, just make sure there is somewhere to attach the straps, either by hooking them or attaching with a (rated) shackle.

Towballs, steering components and tie down points are not adequate to attach a strap to.

And while ur looking at recovery gear, dont skimp on the shackle. Hardware store shackles wont cut it.

Yep I wouldn’t go any thing less than a 3.2 tonne rating shackle. I will go out and mark some safe recovery points on the navara first thing after work tomorrow. ;)

p.s. what’s black rat recovery gear like??? Because that’s what I was looking at.

Better of goin down 4wd shop aint ya to get your recovery gear cause i just looked on ebay an theres some shit gear on there... you may pay a bit extra but its worth it.. Thats my oppinion anyways ;) ;)

agreed...TJM or TJA would be the best place to start...its a bit more expensive but its worth it. Nothing worse that leaving the car there overnight cos ur snatch strap let you down

Nothing wrong with that recovery kit....it'll do the job, but you could get a strap and shackles cheaper, u dont really need the gloves and bag

I have been doing heaps to the navara, I have it all put back together, and dad is making me put the bull bar back on before this weekend so I got the angle grinder out and cleaned it up with the wire wheel so I can paint it.

Yep I just finished one coat just then, until I ran out of paint lol. It’s only a rough job because I am going to take the bull bar back off this weekend. ;D

I ended up buying a TJM OX recovery kit, new floor mats, a new tool box to store all the shit in for this weekend, and a really cool heavy duty lock to stop people steeling it all. ;D
