Just returned from Terrible Billy.
Left @ 07:00 as scheduled from Ourimbah with 2 other vehicles & met up with the other 4 vehicles @ Dungog where we set up camp.
From there, we had morning tea & headed off around past Frying Pan Creek, Teleggery Camping area & then stopped for lunch at Coachwood. From there headed up on Skimmings Gap Rd & followed this around for a bit & took a small detour (I will call it that anyway ;D) past Jerusalem Falls & followed an interesting track for a short distance, before we found a deep mud hole. As I was the only one with muddies & the Trip leader, thought common sense better take over & not play as who would pull me out if I was stuck, with no dry recovery area for 60+ metres to be snatched from.
Anyway we got back on track & headed up to Mountain Rd, where we followed this down to the Karuah River, which was up considerably on my last visit.
We had a quick look & I thought to myself that I would take my usual line, then as we got about halfway, dropped into a deep hole, whet the water came up to thr headlights, causing me to crack both fog lights (these were hot from having them on previously), so I basically then pointed for the exit & hit the throttle to create a nice bow wave. Anyway, we made it out OK, so we then had to talk the rest of the convoy through, which got me a bit wet, but no major hassles.
Then it was off to Terrible Billy, which is starting to get a bit more interesting then last visit (it is amazing what a few inches of rain can do), & we all made it up there with no probs.
From there to Berrico Rd then explored Lawlers track until a locked gate (that wasn't on any maps >:(), so doubled back to Berrico Rd, then followed main rds back ot camp as it was getting dark.
Next morning checked out track at back of CC4WDC lease, & it was pretty badly eroded & impassible without at lease 1 locker, so we turned around & came home.
Pics avaliable soon.
