a mate recently bought some of those big mutha lightforce 240's for his rangie and intends to get into hardcore and comps .
because of this this the lights may go under water every now and then and i have heard you can get a kit to stop water getting in, anyone know what this is, how it works and roughly how much.
oh, and where to get them from although i suppose he could get the kit or at least order it from the same place he bought them from.
shane :)

Depending how old the lights are will depend if you can fit the breather kit to them. avgas502 is lightforce, he is on here so I`m shore he will reply to this.

If the lights have a small recess in the back of the head (behind the globe holder) this can be drilled out & you can buy a retrofit breather kit.
Some sealant is required to be put in the arm too.
The kit includes fittings, instructions, hoses and filters and costs $15.
Available from all Lightforce Automotive stockists
Part # DLBRKIT
All new Lightforce driving lights now come with this kit included.

Lightforce, great lights, overpriced to blazes!!

Geez how much more could they charge for some reflectors and globes, with a bit of a nice case to put it all in.

I should start manufacturing them and pocket some huge profits too ;D ;D................lets share the profits ;D

On that theory, strap 2 Dolphin Torches to your car :D :D

We only paid $336 for our 16 sets I sold. I think I should get a free set of HID's for my trouble :-* :-* :-*

Lightforce lights and dolphin torches hmmm there are plenty of similarites but it all ends at the price ;D ;D Maybe a few more candle power I must admit ;D ;D

HID hmmm............... Hidden In Darkness ;D ;D

Read some reports on USA site about HID stuff, not as beneficial as most would like to think when looked at from a technical point of view.

Trucknutz,

Don't believe everything you read....especially fron yank sites ;)
I would not be all at surprised if they've confused the H4 Xenon inserts as HID's and been disappointed by the output ::).....
I recall seeing a recent statisic from the US that reports less than 0.5% of the vehicles on the road there had HID's....even Australia has a higher percentage & certainly the European countries have a MUCH higher amount...

Yes there are some interesting half truths out there at the moment and its good to see people doing their own research. For sheer light output GENUINE HID systems are as good as it gets on the current market. Pseudo bulbs claiming huge wattages / mammoth distances or improving your sex life are basically marketing hype... I know I tried 'em all and I still can't get lucky!

Your lights can ultimately be only as good as a combination of the bulb and reflector AND what you want/need (can be 2 different things ;)) from a light?

When buying a high end item for my car or house I prefer to let the product and end users do the talking. Do your research, ask questions, brand reputation does not necessarily mean anything.

I did put my point of view on the following post if you are interested (no mr admin I'm not advertising, just clarifying) ;) I do not believe HID's are the answer to all situations and indeed will sometimes make other reccomendations.

Mate have you ever driven around for a whole night with HID`s? I have and I can tell you now They aren`t Hiden In Darkness. They made the other lights I had on look like parking lights ::)

At least you don't need to worry about theft with the night stalkers. Thieves normally only take things they want or can sell...........
