Hi guys just putting a little feeler out there, if anyone would be interested in getting together for dinner and a night drive sometime in the coming months. Seems like the Mexicans have a ball doing this so it should be fun :)
Any suggestions for where to go for dinner or wheeling, please post em!

Sounds like a good idea.
It may be one of my last outings with the NSW guys before I relocate to Qld (not that I won't be back from time to time for the occasional trip)

We could do dinner at the Spur as it is pretty central as for a drive wouldnt have a clue
Bellie
23-02-2006, 02:08 PM
Im up for it
As for any other details im not goin to be much help, dont know that many places.... But it does depend on what sorts dinner you want eg restaurant, cook your own
Brendan
23-02-2006, 04:23 PM
Good stuff! I figure everyone would rather just sit down and eat somewhere rather than have a barby, but it's up to you all. The Spur is the steakhouse on Victoria Rd at Rydalmere next to the family inn isn't it?
What if we were to do a night drive on a Saturday out at Lithgow... nowhere really else that will be suitable. We could find a nice place to eat around that way on Saturday evening, go driving for the night and come home early Sunday morning or whatever.
What does that sound like?
crusher
23-02-2006, 04:53 PM
If your looking at going as far as Lithgow Brendan what about having dinner at one of the clubs up here on the Central Coast.
Wyong Leagues, Doyalson RSL etc all have reasonably good restaurants and are not far from Watagans.
You could then head out to the Watagans from there. Maybe swag it and make it an overnighter at one of the camping grounds. OL had a night drive up there a few weeks ago when we did our last trip
Brendan
23-02-2006, 05:23 PM
Yeah that's true mate. Let's put it to poll. What do you all reckon?
Mick.

Imagine doing Whitemans lane as a night drive (before they close it).

Oh, and it'll more'n likely end up being after TTC -- seems everyone is pretty busy until then. Chester's in Melbourne, I'll be off to Bushranger Clubkhana and Son of Trials. Plus need to save a little drinkin' money for the weekend!

Sounds like a top night
You can pencil me in. I'll have to check the missus fire roster closer to the date and then see if I can get a weekend pass. The brother in law might be keen to come as well.
Has it been decided if we're staying/camping anywhere over night. I'll have to stay up the coast anyway, to long a drive home afterwards.

How about the Bowling club for dinner? Meet up Time say 5pm on the 6th of May at the Caltex Service station because everyone Knows where that is. Then go the the Bowlo from there.
For those of us that deside to camp out we could stay at Casurina for the night.

If this trip is still a goer we should do a roll call to see what vehicles are coming along and that will most likely determine the grade of tracks we can do.
I think zig zag and slippery rock can be done by most vehicles with a/t tyres getting pulled up in the worse case scenario which isnt a big deal?
Maybe if there is a big variance of vehicles we can go up zig zag and down whitemans or if theres only crazy people coming we can go up whitemans and down zig zag.
Im easy either way.
