Doing a trip in a couple of days. Starting from Wonnangatta through Talbotville, across to Haunted Stream and across to McKillops Bridge and the Deddick Trail via Hells Gate. Anyone done the Deddick Trail and what was it like. The Staircase looks interesting on the map. Anyone been recently since the fires?? Undestand some of the tracks could still be closed ie. Diggers Hole Tk & Jam Tin Tk.
Parks Vic weren't much help as to what is now open and what isn't.

Just came back from the trip and had a great time. All the tracks I wanted to do were open. The Deddick trail is easy, steep in places, not suitable for trailers. Saw some come through with thier camper trailers and had trouble with the mounds.

We did afew tracks around limestone creek which had had little if any traffic since the fires, and aprt from the silt build up on small creeks and the amount of sticks etc on the ground, shouldnt really pose any problems.

If the flies were all I have to complain about though, it must of been ok, the people were great too.

Great photos! The flies were a problem where we were also. they disapeared just before dusk. At the hut we're fixing up near Dargo the biggest problem is with the Cicades. The noise is deafening and what I guess/hope was cicade piss constantly raining down on us!!! :-\
