cape york trip may 2007

hi everyone, planing a cape trip in may 2007 looking for a few
interested members who might be looking for a touring
party, we have three 4bys going looking to increase the

G,day would be interested,just need to know a couple of things, like when and where are you planning to leave from and is it guys only and how many days are you planning to do it in.

a guys time away would be a great time to play up but we had promised to take our misus we plan around eight weeks to the cape and beyound

Thanks bejay, a mate and myself only have a leave pass for two weeks leaving from Cairns/Cooktown depending where the women want to stay. Family constraints stop us from taking them to the tip :-[

Hey kingchevy,
I'm going to be up in Weipa a few times this year. Mostly only going to have a coupla days free at a time, but if ya know of any campsites that suit this I'd luv to know about them!
So far, we've been to:
* Stone's Crossing (nice spot but pity swimming is a bit risky!)
* Pennyfather (singularly dissapointing, man what a rubbish tip!)
* Wenlock @ Frenchmans track crossing (sensational!!!!)

Have the Mapoon area on the list to check out as I've heard some really good things about that area.

Hey there went up the cape 18 mnts ago and had a blast...
Saw lots... but missed lots... only so much you can do in 6 weeks ha. Would definately be interested in goining as we will prob be livin in cairns by then...

Yeah mapoon is the go there are also some unkown camp spots around the stone's area that you will have to ask me about outside the forum if you drop in or something. did you go to dyfken when you were at penefeather? its got a buet plane crash and a cool lighthouse thing you can climb. Did you see beanhole on you're way into stone or wyse's.

is that an open invitation to anybody who is heading up the cape, as i am heading up there in july/august 2006 and any info on places to visit and camp would be much appreciated.
