The fine art of locating suitable natral resources such as large obscred stumps and deep overgrown pot holes.

1: By guess-a-metrics,calculation of the correct angle of attack on such resources so at to effect maximum penetration of the vehicles sub chassis components and correct "hooking up" of minor components such as sway bars and bumbers.

2:Achieving optium balance of motive forces and friction so as the vehicle can not possibly roll off or out of the resourse without the application of massive energy reserves.

3:Single handedly, effect the desired ground clearance by the precise application of appropriate energy so as to tear, rip and bend all those useless pieces of metal and plastic that once impeded your progress off road.
For example, select reverse, thottle to the floor and dump the clutch !.(an added advantage using this method is the water saved due to the removel of that bull bar that leaks water all the time.)At this point the vehicle will raise slightly above the desired height, however,it should settle as the excess metal is torn from the vehicle. The calibration process is now complete.

4:providing a reserved but believable story to your now dismayed mates on how the modifications were achievable in such a short time frame and at no cost to yourself. ;D

I have used this method myself to improve clearance under my alloy side steps and gained at least an extra 2 inches between gound and steps!

it's more fun if you

1. park 4x4 in driveway
2. decide what's important under there (i.e. gearboxes)
3. cover important bits with with bash plates
4. use a combo of sledgy and hilift :D
