Read your report in the SA mag AJ, sounded good. I think that one was on TV a couple of weeks back with John Riddell. Quorn sounds good to me, not too far away.

That was Arden Hills Trail - been there, done that - but their are lots more new ones on the other side of Quorn

Well I would love to say I was in as well, but expecting addition to the 4WD family around the end of Jan and don't think the "boss" ;) would appreciate me nicking off.
Hopefully next time later in the year

keep us informed, im in for mid january, good way to celibrate me b-day(that means free beer) ;D
Being January I think it would be best if we get some definate numbers and get group discount for track access and pub accommodation. Probably be too hot for camping when there are great pubs nearby. ;D

How about this one in March.
Good chance for us SA forumites to meet up, Some probably for the first time (hand goes up)
This was in General from Scojohara:
Have a look at this link, I think the event is going to be an enjoyable weekend. Naracoorte is located in the SE of South Australia, about 3.5 hours from Adelaide and about an hour north of Mount Gambier. This event will happen on the 11 and 12th of March, 2..6
Just some information direct from the site noted below
The Naracoorte Apex 4x4 Endurance & Field Day will be held at The Naracoorte Motorcycle Grounds on Gum Point Rd, Naracoorte
This is a time trial event over vigorous terrain. The course is approximately 400m and designed that a standard 4 wheel drive with good tyres can completed no winch is necessary. The course may have some sections which are optional. Included as part of the event some skilled tests are also included. The course is set on black soil so it is sticky and slippery. It will have mud, dust, rocks, logs, tyres and sand.
Hope you can join us for a good day
The following link is the web site for the event. Well worth a look.

Robe and Beachport is not to far from Naracoorte
Maybe we could do the event and then go sand dunein ???
I know weve all probly done the sand dunes but it wouldnt
be to bad to see the comp for some who havent b4.
Hey im in wherever, as long as we dont have to drive 50/12 hours to get there.

As much as I like the idea of this weekend I take my kids wheelin with me and i'm mot sure an 11yo navigator would fit the bill for the event. Plus you need to wear crash helmets and I don't fancy buying them for a one off event.

Hey Guys, long time no play I know, study has taken priority for a while but if there is a chance for a trip in March that would be awesome
In like flynn brat and all.
Hey pat why cant a 11 year old navigate, mine tells me where to go all the time.
Icecraem containers work as great helmets too.

Still trying to get some 2nd. hand muddies so I can enter. According to Danny Attwood muddies are recommended but not essential. Good A/T's will do but I dont even have them.
A navigator is required for some obsticle sections and skills events.

15-01-2006, 11:53 PM
i'd enter EXCEPT the towball requirement. mine was cut off long ago in a chase for more departure angle
Towbar ::) Is there a trailer pulling comp?
I hope its not for recoveries ;)

No it's not for recoveries but an optional skills event involving trailers.
Hey Pat, what's wrong with an 11 tr. old nav?
My missus is navigating for me :o help! Might let her drive some too if she's extra nice to me ;)
So your saying you dont need a towbar as the trailer thing is optional?

Being a compediter in a 4wd comp will change you life!- look what its done to me!
It will give you a shorter attention span, less tollerance of others, a one track mind and symptoms of being over tired. It will also make you seem more inteligent to your peers and more attractive to the ladies! - would I lie to you?
Seriously tho, We'ed love to see as many forumites at the Narracoorte comp, as possible, and we do intend to make it a regular event. Entries are filling up, however. - theres plenty of room for spectators.
Bad Religion, are you serious - YOU cant come up with a tow bar for the weekend?
I dont have one either, for my new 80srs, but I'll work something out!- 6 weeks to go yet.
I'm sure you're all aware of this event, so ill stop raving, but it would be great to meet some of the names on this forum, and have a great weekend aswell.
see you all there

bad religion - sorry, I thought you were someone else!
On my 40, i used the toyota chassis mounts and welded some square tube to it, under the RHS that runs side to side, (under the cross member). With a piece of plate at the front end, with holes for trailer chain shackles, it was strong as!!!
With a removable type tow bar, a 40srs has 1 of the best departure angles around.
I may have a pic around somewhere if you're really having trouble.
cheers

I'm out for Easter, heading to Mexico.
Anyone free for Anzac weekend (well sort of a weekend if you take Monday off) somewhere not too far would be good. The border track should be open.
