what sort of clearance under the bonnet can i expect from a 2in body lift on the mav??
It'd probably give you another 2" of clearance under the bonnet :P ;D
Sorry, couldn't help myself.. I don't have a body lift, but I can grab some snaps or measurements though on Saturday of anything you want relational to a 2" body lift as one of my mates has done it..

just make sure that the brake lines and things that come down from the body are long enough your gear shifters if there not long enough you might have to extend them i have a two in lift on my hilux every thing seemed to have enough movement did n't have to extend anything thats about all i can think of at this point in time

In which areas.
Looks to me like it is pretty much all coverred.
Lift Body from the chasis.
Might need to extend brake lines, gear levers.
May have to get bullbar & tow bar mounts moved.
May need to get radiator mount moved.
I reckon that about covers it.

so is there anything else i should be worried about.. like engine wise??
i'd like to do it myself just to save a few quid.. but i dunno.. :-\

Only things to worry about with the engine, are the hoses.
As you will lift the body & the engine will stay with the chasis, anything that goes from one to the other will need to be looked at.
That includes heater hoses, radiator / and or hoses (remember the fan will be with the radiator, that is why I suggest to look at remounting the radiator), fuel lines etc

Check out the steering shaft too - on some 4wds you need an extension
Just a thought
Sorry Lachie but I didn't get any pics.. had a tube blow on me on the way out so my day ended early..

Mate had an 80 series done recently and the major problems were they didn't adjust the stearing linkages. Other things were a few hoses to the engine were tight, needed to drop the radiator to line up with the fan properly. Good job your doing it yourself as there are some dodgey 'specialists' doing crap jobs.

i've done a 2" body lift on my MQ shorty,
i'll grab a few shot's of under the bonet and what else
the fuel filler is a problem if u go to hi, and your clutch
line and brake lines as well if you got suspesion lift..
What about your fuel pipes from your filler to the tank ? Had to legthen mine on the Lux but I dunno about a patrol...

You don't have to I just slid mine off a bit and retightened the hose clamps. I am going to replace though when I get a long range fuel tank.
