Geez Matt :'(
I don't know where to find what your looking for mate but it must be a hard one. Nobody's answered you :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(
I grew up in Melbourne but that was more years ago than I like to remember. The bush is now the suburbs :o :o :o :o :o
Good Luck ??? ;D :D :(

Try purchasing this book
http://www.offroadshop.com.au/accessories/maps/4wd-locations/4WD-Treks-Close-to-Melbourne.cfm
There are a few others there including some of the High Country.

If you want to go to the beach as well then the Otways would be the only option. May as well go now as they want to lock it all up as national park and close most of the tracks. It's a great place to go if the weather is hot, very cool in the rainforests and can go swimming at the bottom of the waterfalls.
Not alot of places you'll get both. You've got the Otways as already suggested or you can head towards the 90 mile beach, but not a hell of a lot of 4wdriving there.
You can always come up to Neerim with me, only takes you 45-60 mintues to get there and has a great mix of 4wdriving :)
anglsea and lourne have some offroad areas a few big hills etc
Glenaire camping where the aire river comes out is great, can sand drive, camp on grass on the river area, fits hundreds, and surf fishing on the beach, with the Otway fly walk 15 minutes away, Cape Otway, and Beech Forrest all within half an hour as well.
Also has parks toilets blocks,a nd a tinnie on the river you can check out and fish the whole lake/river system before it hits the beach.
But keep it quite, its a bit of a secret..... ;)

Was a good day for it, overnight rain (not much) kept the dust down, and the mudholes were low. Still managed to fit a swimming pool into the front footwells of MUDRIG's surf as the holes had very soft bottoms.
Overall, good fun, saw some big trucks out there and here i was in the little Suzi. Still great fun. ;D ;D ;D
hmmm my answer would be to move to a real state cause im anti victorian.. but i know if i actually say that then all you melbournians will jump down my throat.. so umm i wont say that..

You tell em sheddy! Melbourne and victoria has some awesome tracks. The toolangi area seems to be getting harder because it is getting used a fair bit by many keen four wheelers! ;) Fun for all! :P
Stay away see if we care! ;D

What about Gembrook, or Bunyip SF? Or is it Wombat SF?
Just got back from a weekend at Jericho and Woodspoint area. Abbotts track and Brewery Track are absolutely amazing. As are German Spur, Webber Spur and the list just goes on and on in that area ;D ;D ;D
