Got this 80 about a year ago to use as a tow vehicle, she was from WA, an ex telstra vehicle, so its a standard

It had bloody pootrol wheels and H/Ts on it when i bought it, but had the racks, spare wheel carrier and winch compatible bullbar which i think is an old ARB, it was standard height with uprated springs in its ass

So first thing was to put some better wheels and tyres on it:

http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a350/timbocruiser/106398.jpg

and then some OME springs and shocks which raised it a bit, and got some more artic:

http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a350/timbocruiser/106402.jpg

so now it was time to take it in the bush, so we went to Southport and got bogged heaps!! but finally made it in

http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a350/timbocruiser/106400.jpg

Painted the rasias black, which looks better:

Put some Outback roller drawers in and a Uniden UHF recently, Put some Narva spotties and Nite stalkers on the racks today, will post some pics later!

Future plans are to raise it a bit more, get some 35s under its guards and maybe turbo the 1hz

Nice unit Tim. I found that with the UHF mounted where yours is that it got in the way on long trips when I moved my legs around. I put in an ovehead console to get it up off the floor. Then again if you haven't long legs then it won't be a problem ;D ;D

put some new headlight inserts in today and some new globes, made a great diference! :D

Pulled the spare wheel carrier off to clean it up and replace some bolts, will get it so it mounts nice and solid as it used to wobble around a bit.

Cleaned up the old spare wheel carrier which had a bit of surface rust over it and the paint was peeling aswell, so got rid of the old crap and put a fresh coat of gloss black on it, just need to put it back on, which will happen later as its pi^%in down atm.

http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a350/timbocruiser/100_0622.jpg

Planning to do a bodylift to it in the next month or so and get some spacers on top of the springs too, to get it up there a little more.Might invest in some slightly longer travel shocks aswell, maybe tough dog adjustables if the funds are there!

Got my spacers and some 50mm polyethane rod, still yet to get some 75mm rod for the front and back body mounts

Hey Tim, how did you run the wires for Ya lights on the roof? Where do they come out? I was thinking bout this as i want to run some driving lights and a couple of work lights up there...

timbocruiser
11-09-2005, 09:54 PM
i put in another two pairs of lights the other week, i used twin core to wire them up and just taped it all together so it was flat and then ran it inside to drivers door opening, then down b pillar, i will get a pic for you if u like

I didnt want to drill holes in the roof or run it down the snorkel or sumthing :D
