Considerring that the V6 was considered a "not very powerful" engine in the Hilux I do not think it will make it over here as an option for the 70 series as a grneral release from Toyota.
Much like the earlier prado, which was a 70 series body but with a hilux / bundera 2LTE engine, was never released in Australia, but made it here as a grey import.

It would be dissapointing,I drove the new TRD supercharged Hikux a while ago and I wasn`t impressed with that at all .I gaurentee a bog stock commodore V6 would beat it! Good pick up to 80kmh then it is pretty ordinary,I think they should stick with the V8 Diesel but whack that 2nd Turbo on it with VVTI, then it would be good.

Looks like shit inside and that piece of crap petrol engine would not compare to the 1fz-fe overall! personally i like the 75's alot more than the rest of the 70 series models. They are the toughest!

Default quarter vent windows

Did you also notice those pictures show quarter vent windows! Wish they brought those back... but I'm not holding my breath.

Although probably not as durable as the current steel dash, the new dash should be functional and people will get used to it and they'll soon find suitable places to mount radios etc. At least the glove box looks like it will prevent all your crap falling onto the floor when its opened.

More importantly, are they going to increase the rear wheel track to match the front? The current arrangement with 100mm difference is a poor design imo.

Hope they get ABS, but hopefully airbags are an option as opposed to std fitment.

No V6 announced for Oz yet. Thank god!!
Airbags will now be a standard fitment, not option to comply with safety laws.
Will be fitted with bluetooth apparently, but not with electric mirrors as shown.
Wheel track will not be altered as the change is only cosmetic to include airbags and very pretty cupholder and vents

Sounds like you need a dougs tub mate.
It was inevitable that it was going to happen after almost 25 years with the same dash, look at the difference between the 47 - 75 series.
I still prefer the 75-79 series dash and i think a 1fz-fe would be my choice if i had to have a petrol engine.
