imo a commy V6 is the last option for a 2 1/2t vehicle...
imagine that an
empty cruiser is the same as driving a VT commodore with a 7x4 trailer full of dirt ( 750kg) ......the weight saps a fair amount of power from the commodore and increases fuel considerably ( and engine life also).....
Now that was an EMPTY cruiser imagine it with a full load and /or trailer
picture a VT wagon fully loaded up towing the proud mary....thats what a cruiser towing with a v6 would be like.....
my opinion only though...keep the v6 for a dual cab ect less weight
