View Full Version : Triton Bluetooth issues - how many are affected?

So I read on the Vic Pajero owners forum of a few ppl with Bluetooth issues, but couldn't find a dedicated thread here. I was very happy with mine, no probs in the first two weeks, then jinxed myself by saying so in a thread over there :(
I know Mantis had/has issues, and now me. Yesterday it was acting strange, and today not working at all. I would pair OK but I couldn't hear anything through the speakers (just crackle & pop). Tried erasing all the pairings, but once re-paired all I got was the crackle & pop again.
I rang my dealer who promised me a return phone call (hasn't happened yet) - and the next time I got in the Triton it all worked perfectly, made 4 calls without a problem. I wonder if these Parrot kits are properly installed, or just scotch-locked into the wiring of the headunit. Has anyone seen the location of the unit or had a satisfacory fix from their dealer?
Cheers!

three units doesn't sound good, grump - hope they've got a more permanent fix in the pipeline!!
and Damon, did you replace yours out of your own pocket, or did the Dealer come to the party with the install?
Cheers

Our phones were up for renewal, so i just screwed the deal a little bit harder. So yes we paid for them, but i hate Blue tooth anyway:crazy: ,so even if i had to pay full price i would of just to be able to charge the phone and have an external aerial.
Cheers

Hey subi,
we have had our issues with ours as well, but dont get excited about getting the dealer to fix it. I told them about the complaints i have had and seen on the forum thought that may back up my argument. I am not sure they give a toss just quietly

The First unit never worked right from the start, the guy who put the OE sunroof in couldn't be bother to run the wire back to the fuse box and piggy back it into the bluetooth unit and when the safety feature's wouldn't work on the sunroof he tap a wire from the sunroof/bluetooth unit into another wire that had power running all the time(Sunroof has to have power all the time, finger heads etc in the way it stay's open) but by doing this he had power running to the bluetooth unit all the time and it got cooked, the second one just died for no reason.
If you want HEAR the rest of the CRAP that Dandenong Mitsubishi tried to pull on me, l think that would have to be another THREAD

Mine was great for the first week. After that it would randomly work. Took it in and complained at it's first service and I was told nothing was wrong with it, same dealership as you Grump!
Now it works off and on. I usually have to connect manually using the phone. After that it's ok but it's a pain in the ar$e having to do that all the time.
It's a shame because I find it great to use when it's working.:(

Mine didn't work well with my O2 mini but I think that was due to the phone. Touch wood it works with my nokia with the dash controls being the exception I'm willing to suffer.

Mines still shit has issues every day, I just switch bluetooth on my phone off now..
I would go to Mitsu and put the pressure on them, but the problem is my nearest dealer is 300km's away, and I have to take a day off work to book it in, not really worth it to me...

Cheers mate, I'll give that a try.
I got Don, he was nice but on several occasions I had to explain to him how the paperwork needs to be and the whole process of buying a car. It's been close to two months and I'm still chasing up paperwork that they didn't submit for the trade in!
Spent the weekend looking at houses and land, not 4x4 accessories like I wanted...:( How about you?
