Hi All,
I have a bog standard 93 Paj but the TO-DO list is HUGE!! I am very soon going to upgrade the suspension (Ironman seem to be the favorite at the moment). My question is can I fit 31inch tyres under the guards with little modification?
Oh and just a note I have fitted a pair of "Roo Lights" by Nite Stalker (a LightForce copy) and they are brilliant, so if you can't afford the $250 each then give the Nite Stalkers a look, I got mine from EBay for $230 the pair. Same light half the price.

I have an NJ, 31" Wrangler MTRs fit with no problem. I'm not sure on the NH though - maybe try the Pajero Club's forums.

i say you shouldn't have problems with 31's they aren't a big tyre/wheel combo i'd say 32 will need some pursuasion on a NH though

31's are standard on the GLS top of the range models.
I put GLS alloys with 31x10.5's on my NH GLX and the only change I made was the speedo gear. Easy enough to do and was only around $30.00 from Mitsubishi. The other thing is the tyre bulge just sits outside the guards but the tread is just under... technically barely legal, depends who's asking.
For 32's you'd have to start looking for tyre scrubbing without suspension work and/or a body lift, and 33's require a body lift and removal of mudflaps.

Shogun if ya savin da muny cause you want to buy more things the 15 x 7 ROH white rims, (can get them in black and silver too) with the navara offset fit the 31" tyre and GLX or GLS Paj beautifully.
Done the same to my GLX years ago and it really looks the part ! The offset is perfect for the GLX as it prevents tyre rub on the front during turning and has the tyre only sticking out 3/4" if you have no flares.
The GLX body shape remained identical from 92 to 2000 so it doesn't matter if it is a NL NH or any other type.

I have an NH GLS, the standard tyres were a 265/70R15 (about 29.5"), I have fitted 31 x 10.5 and have no issues with stock height and the GLS rims. Should be able to get a 265/75R16 (32") on a stock NH without a problem (maybe a little scrubbing at full lock or articulation)
was it the NJ's on that recieved the body lift from the factory?

My 3.0L doesn't have it - have a feeling it was the NL's they started doing that?

It was when they introduced the NJ 3.5 DOHC they lifted the body. The 3.5 is physically a bigger motor and the transmission bigger as well so they did the body lift to fit it in.
NH & NJ 3ltr have no body lifts but still should be able to run 32" on standard suspension.

Hey yobekaw, love the look of your Paj!! You say you've got 32/11.5/15s, I asked about getting larger tyres at a Cooper outlet, the guy told me that the Paj would be a slug on anything bigger than 31/10.5/15. How does your rig go? I'd love to have the tyres you have.
Also, I was wondering about the torsion bar wind-up, I had a look under my 92 NH and there is a lot of thread exposed on what Im assuming is the adjuster bolt. Does that mean they're wound up? If so then I'm feeling ripped off as I have nowhere near the clearance you have and I've only got 31s! (see attached pic). BTW, did you fit your snorkel and if so, was it difficult? I want to fit one to mine but I looked at the air-intake and it looks like a fixed section into the guard from in front of the filter box.
Cheers.

Look at how much bolt is left on the under side. My Triton has about two inches underneath and about 2 1/2-3 inches exposed on top.
If the paj has stuff all try pedders or any decent suspension shop and ask them to reset the torsion bars with the adjusters wound out as far as practical. this should definately give you something to play with then. :thumb:

Ran 31 m/t on my old 92 stock paj, no probs with guards (actually had plenty of room). Nite stalker are actually a very good light for the price, I was surprised, I had them on my old paj as well, now I'm running IPF 800D on the disco and they're grouse.

I have just bought and test drove my 2nd 92NH, it has been raining here for some time now, so i decided to try out the 4by. I only just payed for the transfer of ownership when i throw the family in and went bush. I needed to now how the set of 33 x 12.5 x 15 on the rear and 33 x 10 x 15 front would handle the swap out the back. It was great fun didn't bottom out or anything. My wife told me i should've told her what i was going to do as i could've stopped at the pub :drink: before we went out. (not for me).
