I am looking at a 2002-on MK Triton bullbar but the owner says it won't fit a 98 MK. Is it only something small or if I to try to get it to fit will it be impossible.
Thanks in advance.

g'day mate-is it a arb bar-if so it will fit with no problems, the only issues are with the headlights being bigger on the newer models but as far as i know that is it other than the flares, tjm only make 1 bar for the mk's but the arb ones have about 3 different types to suit flares and non flares and also for airbag models-pm me for more info

Thanks for the reply. It is an ARB one that I'm now looking at. The TJM alloy one has been sold by the time I got my act together. At least with the steel ARB I can do any welding etc myself if needed.
In all the catalogues the MK's must have been changed abit around mid 01 because alot of companies bar change model number around this date. I have lined my MK up with a later MK and the grill does seem different. Are the mounts the same? They seem to be.

g'day mate, according to the catalogue from arb the bars are all the same mountings from 96 to 06,no changes at all that i know of,the only diffs are the bigger headlights and the grills, all mountings are the same,i bought my arb winch bar new and the sticker on the fitting kit says 96-06,nothing else about airbags/flares etc just 96-06 mk triton, the only differences are as stated before in the bar itself, all mounts are the same though.
yes they had a facelift in mid 01,no structural changes were made to the chassis which is where you mount the bars etc,and yes they are easy to weld onto however you have to grind the powder coat off first as all arb bars are powder coated not painted like some others

You need the winch otherwise whats the point in getting a bullbar!

Thanks Guys,
Ended up with a late model MK ARB whinch bar. As detailed above all mounts lined up but a bit of a gap from the back of the bar to the grill. no great drama. BTW added alot of steering weight over the fron tyres. now have to wind up the torsion bars.
