2.5 inch system going on tomorrow morning at 8.30.
No restrictions what so ever.
Flanged pipe direct from turbo, straight through to a straight Lukey muffler.
Anti-vibration joint to help with the diesel vibes and corrugations.
Was originally after 3 inch, but after speaking to 2 exhaust pros (who both said the identical thing) 3 inch is too big at the turbo end on the Paj engines.
The guy who is actually doing the work for me has a 3.2 CR Pajero on order at the local dealer here, and it's the same system he's putting on his.
Can't ask for more than that I guess..
$545 fitted.
I was going to take the opportunity to have a side-exit pipe for it, but can't really think of a good reason why, other than I like the idea and it shortens up the total length of the system.
Anyone got any pros / cons on doing that? I wonder if fumes would become an issue if it exited somewhere around where the bed joins the body?
Any advice appreciated.
Josh.

Price sounds pretty good!!!
I know years ago I was looking at side exit for a track day car I was building. From what I could gather it would have to exit after the rear doors as fumes can, and do enter through the rear doors.

Yep.
I've decided against it.
After some more discussions with "my exhaust guy" this morning, and a close look at the back end of the turbo etc, we've decided to go 3 inch from the turbo, then into 2.5. Rear exiting.
Should be ready to go in 2 hrs..
I wonder if it will sound like a Kenworth when on boost. I expect it will...
The amount of restriction in the big canister hanging off the back of the turbo needs to be seen to be believed. I'm pretty sure removing that and doing nothing else would improve things a lot. Maybe worth some thought for anyone looking to make an improvement without spending much..

my exhaust guy said 2.5" aswell.. so your starting with a 3" dump pipe off the turbo?
this mean your running no cat?

I'm running nothing at all.
turbo outlet / 3'dump / flange pipe / 2.5' flex pipe / 2.5' high-flo muffler / the end.
As close to zero restriction as it was possible to go.

Save your money Tri:
The exhaust is a masterpiece. This guy is an artist with a welder and you couldn't ask for a better job.
Discernible performance increase? = ZERO.
*sigh*
More hard-earned down the hole.

Hi Josh, any reason why you tried an exhaust before an aftermarket chip like the Steinbauer or DPchip?
I'm about to take delivery of a ML Triton (any day now!) and after considerable research I will be saving for the Steinbauer, then down the track fitting an exhaust with a retune...
Cheers
Andrew
EDIT: I'm a silly newb, as I was browsing this forum I found where you had tried some chips, my apologies :o

No worries mate...
If you want a master-built exhaust, done 100klm.
it's yours for $400.
(it ended up costing me $700 and took 6 hrs to build.)

hmm tempting, I'd better not get too ahead of myself seeing the Triton isn't even parked in the shed yet! :D
(maybe today is my day?!)
