Ask the exhaust guy!! Or the power-up guys like Safari, Denco, etc. Anyone who offers a power improvement will know, and probly even sell you one if you ask!

gday taity
you should be able to one ordered in from the guys at your local exhast shop, if not they can make one for you depending how good they are.
they might ask you to supply a flange plate for the dump pipe if they decide to make it up. if you want one made up get the flange plate and a 90 degree 3'' pipe. i think you can buy the pipe from auto 1, repco them places. will save you a bit of money then the only charge is labour. theyre a pain in the arse to make but if want to save your mullar. id ask for a price on an aftermaket one then ask for a price if you supplied the pipe and flange plate and go from there.:thumb:

hey taity, i did all the reseach for mine. I checked everyone in coffs, no one would/could make adump pipe. I emailed beaudesert exhaust, and they rang me the next day to chat and confirm my order, with a direct deposit i had the dump pipe down here at coffs in 3 days- could not be happier with the service i got. l got it welded on by mark at berklee in coffs, and he said it was a bloody good quality job and well priced ( dump pipe was $175 delivered to me )....

Post up how the car goes with the new exhaust.
I've a got a stock 2.8 GQ, and I'd like some more HP out of it.
If you can report definite improvements, I'll have a look at doing the same.

My GQ sounds like it's set up much the same as yours, give or take a bit of fruit.
I'm tossing up what to do with mine. I'd like more power for what I use my GQ for, which is 95% outback travel..........work and back once a week.
I find it a bit disappointing on the open road.
It's in great condition, only 140,000 Ks. So it would be a shame to sell it for something else. But I really need something that cruises better, and can overtake road trains with more confidence.....and get me there a bit faster.
I've thought about a 4.2 transplant, or even a Chev diesel.......(I get diesel for free, to a petrol motor is no go).
How much improvement can you get out of the 2.8?
I'm thinking a snorkel, exhaust and an inter cooler...........maybe LPG.
I'd like to rule out the 2.8 before I look at other options.
Any suggestions?

well when i bought mine it came with a snokel so im not sure the diffenerce with or without one. i was thinking a water to air intercooler and a new exhaust would really open it up. then tickle the boost a bit and your laughing.
