4WD Action 118
ON SALE NOW
This month’s issue of Australian 4WD Action is packed with custom 4WDs, new tips and techniques, plus all the regulars. Brendan Batty reviews the 2007 Woodpecker Challenge held in the Dargle Ski Park and Brendan Seymour tackles the ever present problem of having to deal with flat tyres far from a helping hand.
We love a decent camper trailer here at 4WD Action, and this month we take a look at BackTrax. It’s in the shape of the X-Terrain Offroad Camper, weighing in at an incredible 350kg, less than half the weight of a conventional camper trailer!
A personal favourite in Issue 118, is an absolute pearler of a Defender belonging to a bloke called Wesley Baker, packing a 2.5L 300Tdi turbo-diesel, a 3in mandrel bent exhaust system, triple battery system and a rear Air Locker. Wes sold his V8 ’85 County 110 in April of 2000, and hasn’t looked back since he picked up this Defender.
Issue 118 sees the grand finale of the Best 4WD of 2008 take place between the Nissan Patrol GU ST-L Wagon and the Toyota LandCruiser 200 Series GXL. My advice is to check out the mag for the full write-up, whack the free DVD into your player to see how the vehicles performed, and then jump online to: www.4wdaction.com.au/best4wd to cast your vote and have your voice heard in the Australian 4WD Action Best 4WD of 2008.
FREE DVD with Issue 118
This month we step it up a notch in the DVD department, and bring you not just our regular full-length free DVD, but an additional free second feature disc!
When Toyota gave us the opportunity to be the first to take a couple of brand new 200 Series LandCruisers to Cape York Glennojumped at it! So, how did they fare? You’ll have to watch the DVD to find out!
Of course, we’ve got all of our regular features this month, including three stand-out custom trucks. The first could possibly be the trickest GQ Patrol we’ve ever seen, and powered by a turbo’d and worked petrol engine! Then there’s an ultra-neat 80 Series
that’s been cut and customised into an extra-cab ute, and an XJ Cherokee that loves to go rock-crawling.
Jump in with Roothy for Part Two of our Best 4WD of 2008 trip, as he pits last month’s winner, the Patrol, against the newcomer 200 Series to see who reigns supreme off-road. And for the first time, the results will be entirely up to you! Will you be able to correctly pick Best 4WD of 2008? Get online to: www.4wdaction.com.au/best4wd to cast your vote now!
You can see all this and more on Issue 118’s special 2 DVD set, out now at your local newsagent.
