Stockton Beach Clean-up - Sunday 1st March
The Nav had an email come through recently regarding a fantastic initiative to clean up Stockton Beach on March 1st 2009. Read on for some more details regarding this great event.
I (Gordon) have registered Stockton Beach as an official site for Clean-Up Australia Day on Sunday 1 March. I have spoken with both Clean-Up Australia and NSW NPWS and have their approval to organise this event.
The NPWS Ranger has waived the usual entry fee to Stockton Beach for all vehicles participating in the clean-up (must register either before the day or at the registration desk on the day).
Registration for the trip can be done by e-mailing me, or going to the Clean-Up Australia website ( click here), or just ring me or text me on 0404 77 1965.
There will also be a registration desk near the beach end of the car park from 8am on Sunday 1 March for those who just turn up. The plan on Sunday is to grab some rubbish in the morning. The Clean-Up will officially end at 12pm, leaving plenty of time to drive around - probably explore some of the dunes and head down to the wreck or up to the tank traps etc?
If anyone has a spare seat or two (my 4WD will be full of kids) there will be some volunteers who don’t have a 4WD who would love to grab a ride at the car park and help collect rubbish (and see the wonders of Stockton).
Please ring or SMS for more details or just to let me know you are coming.

PS - If you know members of other 4WD Clubs, please pass on news of this event.
